German-based Buss Offshore Solutions and French industrial logistics firm IDEA have formed a joint venture to target the French offshore wind market. It follows the signing of a declaration of intent back in September 2018. The two companies will appeared together for the first time as Buss IDEA Offshore at the Seanergy 2019 wind trade fair in Dunkirk. Through the joint venture, the company are offering logistics services to the offshore market in France. These include shoreside and base port logistics, which are required for the installation, operation and maintenance phases, along with warehousing and factory logistics for suppliers and manufacturers. The Hamburg-based company has been involved with offshore wind logistics and has provided support for projects in the North Sea and Baltic Sea. It provides port and logistics support for the handling of offshore wind components at its own offshore terminals in Eemshaven (Netherlands), Sassnitz and Stade (Germany) and at terminals managed by third parties. IDEA is an independent industrial logistics service provider, which manages supply chains for unusual, specialist and sensitive products. IDEA offers a range of logistical support services from the development and management of supply chains to production, transport and packaging. The company primarily operates in the fields of aviation, energy, defence and marine technology however seeks to support the French offshore wind market.
