Railway failure causes bottleneck in Rotterdam

The railway line from Rotterdam via Duisburg to Basle and Milan, which is crucial for international rail freight transport, was closed on a long term basis on 12th August 2017 because of subsidence during works in South-West Germany. These obstructions have resulted in international rail transport on the important Rhine Alpine European rail corridor coming to a standstill. Oil, Gas and Offshore Wind push Boskalis profits down

After just acquiring a survey company in Great Yarmouth committing £40 million, Boskalis announced today that their revenue has declined compared to 2016. Boskalis blamed poor market conditions in the oil and gas and a lack of major offshore wind farm projects in progress.
